of Algedi Farm)I don't know what got into me, it's not like I
don't have enough goats, but I just could not resist this breeding
and her fellow traveller, Apogee. I just love what Algedi Farm
is doing with their bloodlines, and I am thrilled to have this
beautiful lady here. Thanks so much to Tamara and Kalee for letting
me have her! Her name is in the honey theme--medovina is a type
of honey wine, and she is sweet indeed.

of Algedi Farm)The second of my outside purchases this year, Apogee
is also beautiful and a total love. Thanks so much to Tamara and
Kalee for letting me have her as well! I never got a photo of
this beautiful kid this summer, and it is a real pity. She is
gorgeous, and I can't wait to see her freshen.

Just
like her dam, this pretty doeling is as sweet as the day is long.
She is linebred on MCH Stonewall's L'il Honeysuckle E, full sister
to our favorite ancestor, Raising Arizona, as well as on Arizona
himself, and her patented red coloring is consistent with that
background. Very interested in how this one turns out. Named after
the Greek goddess of flowers.

A daughter
of one of our best young does, sired by our most beautiful buck,
this was sold but the sale fell through, and I get the feeling
it was meant to be. She is wild and crazy, but still a beautiful
sight, with some very spiffy moonspots to boot. Named for a Celtic
goddess of fresh water who is often associated with ravens and
crows.

This
kid had an almost ethereal qualith to her as a baby--very long
limbed and gangly, and a sunshine pale gold that almost glowed.
Now of course, (due to her dam's extra fine milk production) she
is a rather substantial young doe who will definitely be bred
to kid in 2010 if all goes as planned (bred to Hunk for June,
2010). Named for the word for "tiger" among the Udegai
people of the Russian Far East.

At
last, my long awaited double Luck ofthe Draw granddaughter, and
a beautiful sight she is. So far, she is turning out just about
as I had hoped, with her dam's length of body and level rump but
her sire's nice uphill profile, strong bone, and elegant neck
set, plus a very nice set of feet and legs. Another very growthy
doeling who will hopefully be bred for summer, 2010. Named for
the Greek goddess of luck.

Serendipity,
dam of this doe, now lives with and is co-owned by my friend Lizette
Durrschmidt of Crossdrive Farm, but I could not resist keeping
this flashy Kingwood red daughter. Wild, wild, wild, but quite
gorgeous. I am wishing for a bit better udder attchments, but
she certainly already has her dam's nice dairy character and general
appearance.

Another
beautiful Halifax daughter out of one of my best young does; it's
hard to see how we could go wrong with this one.

I can't
believe that I never got a baby picture of this sweet, beautiful,
polled bottle kid. She is the prettiest daughter that Harley has
ever given me, and looks like she will be just what I hoped for--a
scaled up, stretched out version of her dam. No, I will not actually
register her as Egghead, but I have come to realize that's what
she is going to be called, whether I like it or not...that will
teach me to give a kid a nickname; sometimes they stick.

After
I spent $(content edited to prevent the reader from having
a coronary, like my husband did) on a C-section to save Andromeda's
life in 2008, I was SOOOO happy to get this lovely daughter this
year. She may be the most expensive goat I own, in a sense, but
she's such a love, and right pretty to boot. Bred to Hal for June
2010 kids.

(Photo
courtesy of Addie and Joe Pepoli) This should be a really interesting
kid to watch; her pedigree is full of Arizona, and lots of milk.
Sheez, who now lives with and is co-owned by my friends Addie
and Joe Pepoli at Proctor Hill Farm, looked better than ever this
year and milked well on test, although she ended up dried off
early due to an unfortunate injury to Addie, the chief milker.
We expect Sheez to earn her star easily in 2010, and to be a contender
in the show ring as well. This little doe is a real character,
and I just love her.

One
of really pretty twin does. Like all of our Hal kids, this one
is elegant, stretchy, and correct, with a nice personality.

I really
wanted to see how this Flat Rocks/Stetson cross works out, although
truth be told it is actually a rather nice linebreeding on Alamo
Messenger. And of course, it doesn't hurt that this kid is one
of my favorite colors. We will soon have 3 nearly identical plain
chocolate chami does with no white at all...

Is
this an incredible pedigree, or what?
The result of a very confusing birth situation where two does
kidded at the exact same time and each claimed ALL of the kids
("Mine!! Mine, mine, mine! All mine!!!" "Nope,
mine, I swear. Yup. All 6 of them.") Although I love Kestrel
dearly, I have to admit I was thrilled when DNA proved that this
gorgeous little doe was Pacifica's.

Ariadne's
gift to me this year, three beautiful doelings! I couldn't be
happier. Tiny little peanut in the center weighed in at just over
1 pound and struggled at first, but she is a fighter and is now
doing great (though still quite petite). All 3 are very much their
dam's daughters, all I could have asked for.
